The tray ceiling

We added recessed lighting to the trim in the tray ceiling.

The barn door

We decided to use a barn door for the entrance to the master bath. Everyone loves it!

Pictures with furniture

Here are some pictures with furniture moved in.

The shower

We love the shower. It has three shower heads with big double doors. The curbless feature is really nice too.

Master Bath vanity

I'm so pleased with the final result of the master vanity. There is lots of storage and I love the quartz counter top. The floor is heated with a programmable thermostat. On the opposite wall we installed a 'hide-a-hose' vacuum outlet with a 15' hose for clean up.

Closet things

I added a couple of nifty things in the master closet. One is a set of drawers and shelves with a shoe stacker next to it. But the best closet addition is the built-in ironing board. It's a big improvement over the wall kind. It only takes up about 5 inches of space.

Shower doors, faucets

Today we had the shower doors installed. We chose to use the starfire glass, which is low iron glass. It's a clearer glass than 'normal' glass, which tends to have a slightly green cast to it. We wanted to be able to see the beautiful tile through the doors. I think they turned out great.
The faucets were also installed and I love them too. I feel a little crazy... how can a person love these goofy things. But I do!

Shower heads

Today the shower heads and counter tops were installed. Not to mention my practically perfect son-in-law power washed the patio and driveway. Here are photos of the shower. More photos tomorrow.

The devil's in the details

It always seems like that last week has so few and yet so many things to get done. And I have to rely on all these other people to show up to do them! The painter will come on Tues/Wed. The countertop guy on Wed. The plumber on Thurs. The shower door guy on Friday. The electrician on... oh who knows. The vacuflo guy on the following Tuesday. The airduct cleaning people the following Tuesday, and on and on.
Thank heaven my good friend Kay has offered to come over Wednesday to install trim with me all day - unbelievable! What an angel!
Here are pix of some of the trim that has to be installed... wonder if she knew what she was getting into?
That's her fancy HVLP gun that she loaned me to paint the trim too!

Counter tops and floor finish

Today we had people come measure for bathroom countertops. At the same time the hardwood floor guys are refinishing the floors. That requires we climb in and out of the bedroom window to access the bathroom! The countertop guy was really a good sport about the whole thing. Not only did he have to climb in the window, but was exposed to nearly lethal fumes from the floor finish for nearly an hour while templating the counters. I felt so sick from being in there I had to go lay down for the rest of the afternoon!
